Lakeland is a unique blend of old & new. Here the older Colonial Square building looms in the forefront of SunTrust Bank. Many other historic buildings that have been restored share downtown space with modern architecture retaining the comfortable and relaxed ambience of a downtown core center of years gone by. |

In fact, all the sidewalks downtown have been recently redone in the old white cobble stone style with red brick accents. Looks pretty good
huh? |

Here's uh... The "old" Federal Building (part of the Colonial Square complex) downtown. You might not want to visit here, as it currently houses the local IRS offices! Squawk! Squawk! Let's move on, shall we... |

Arriving at the corner of 'Florida & Main" we'll
head east towards the center of downtown and the "Munn Park" area. Tourists frequently comment about how surprised they are to find families and children late at night downtown enjoying themselves in Lakeland's peaceful core city community atmosphere. We just take it for granted. |
